Alfred Rordame has been studying vedic arts for many years including Sanskrit, Vedic philosophy, Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) and the science of yoga through the yoga sutras and other classical sanskrit works. He leads meditation classes, sutra studies (yogic philosophy), performs kirtan (the call and response style of Indian music and chanting) and offers Jyotish readings.
All of his classes arise from his studies of the classical vedic arts combined with life experience and an insatiable appetite for knowledge.
Alfred is also known for his gourmet talents in the kitchen. He believes a good cook has to have a love of food and through his travels (both physical and culinary) has come to master most of the world's cuisines.
Alfred and his wife Emily are the owners of Hotel Macan ché Bed & Breakfast. In September 2005 they moved to the Yucatán to operate the hotel in the colonial city of Izamal (near Mérida). In addition to hosting guests at the hotel their vision is to create a space for retreats and workshops where participants can explore their practice surrounded by the archeological wonders of the Mundo Maya (Mayan World).
Since moving to the Yucatan, Alfred has undertaken in-depth studies of Mayan calendrics, the Yucatec Mayan Language, Mayan spirituality and has explored most of the Mayan sites in Yucatan. As an outgrowth of this work, he has paired up with Star Moser to present 2012 Mystery Tours. 2012 Mystery Tours offers tours of the Mayan sites with experiences with Mayan Elder Don Pedro Pablo Chuc Pec and light worker Star Moser and Xaman'ku (her crystal skull) and classes in Mayan calendrics and glyph writing to deepen understanding of Mayan spirituality and the coming 2012 End Date.
